Here is a little of what Aubree has been up to the past few weeks! I still can't believe how much she is growing and how fast the time goes. She is now 5 and half months old, sitting up, and as of tonight eating cereal. I know any second she is just going to be scooting around like crazy! For the last month she:

-Still loves when her Daddy comes home! I think this is my favorite part of the day as well because I get to see her little face just lights up!

-She is sitting up as of August 22nd. This makes things so much easier.

-She loves watching the dogs. Roscoe always brings her his ball and drops it in her lap for her to throw, ha! Maybe someday.

-She had her first taste of cereal tonight, September 7th.

-Teething is in full swing, poor baby.

-She loves going to her Daddy's football games and cheering on the Panthers!

-She is a great sleeper at night, but a little more restless during her naps.

-She adores her babysitter which makes going to work so much easier.

-She is learning to wave bye and high five-if she's going to grow up a coaches kid, high fiving is a must!

-She is an absolute joy and the light of our lives. We are head over heals in love with this sweet baby girl!

4 MONTHS

Better late than never :) I figured I better get this up before Aubree hits the five month mark. Here were her 4 month stats at her appointment:

weight: 15 lbs 10 oz (87%)
length: 24 inches (42%)--sorry Aubs, this is your mommy's fault :)
head: 16.75 inches (86%)--all brains I'm sure!

Aubree's Fourth Month:

-She continues to sleep through the night, woohoo! She goes to bed between 8 and 9 and wakes up between 6 and 7.

-She is a very happy baby, but doesn't like to be left alone. If I leave her on her playmat and leave the room she cries until someone comes back in the room with her.

-She loves her jumperoo.

-She rolled over for the first time on July 24th :)

-We are waiting to start cereal/oatmeal or any foods until a little later because she has a milk allergy. Our pediatrician said she is more likely to be allergic to other foods as well...booo!

-She usually takes three naps a day...two short ones and a longer afternoon nap.

-She continues to eat 6 ounces every 3 to 4 hours.

-She loves watching her four legged brothers and sister run around. Her eyes get huge as she watches them.

-Cousin Molly was born July 13th. We are so excited for Aubree to have a cousin so close in age.

-She took her first trip to Bowie at the end of June. She loved staying with Bena and Granddaddy but wasn't too sure about her swimming pool.

-She has the prettiest big brown eyes and LONG eyelashes! They go perfect with her chubby little cheeks!

-Aubree continues to amaze us with how much she changes each and every day. She is such a blessing and has brought so much joy to our lives! We love you Aubree Mae!

Four Months-July 22, 2010!

Aubree has several new toys that she LOVES! I really need to figure out how to post our videos on here because her newest thing is screaming at the top of her lungs when she gets excited. It's the funniest thing to watch. She even gets herself choked up every now and then :)

Watching her "Tiny Love" mobile...thanks Heather for introducing us to this. When we visited Parker and Presley Aubree wouldn't stop looking at their mobiles so of course we had to get her one of her own.

We LOVE the jumperoo! I knew she would love this because she is constantly kicking and moving her legs. She wasn't sure what to think of it at first, but now she stays in it for thirty minutes at a time and just jumps and squeels her little heart out. Thanks Nanny and Poppi for the jumperoo!

Aubree's not the only one playing with toys at our house. Daddy has been playing with his video game and Aubs likes to watch.

Phew! It's been a while!!! With school about to start and football season already in full swing, we have been very busy around here. I have a feeling my future posts with include a lot less commentary and more pictures :) A month or so ago, Aubree finally got to meet her friend Parker and Presley. Heather was my roommate from college and Jon and I went to school with Eric. Jon set them up on a date way back when and the rest is history, hehe! They are great friends and it was so fun to watch the babies interact. The twins are twelve days older than Aubree.

3 Months Already!

I can't believe our baby girl is already 3 months old!!! She is growing so fast and it is amazing to see how much she changes from day to day. She continues to sleep through the night and only gets fussy when she's hungry or really tired. She is holding her head up much better and loves to sit up and look around. She is very much a daddy's girl, he can ALWAYS make her smile! She is beginning to notice the dogs running around and its funny to watch her eyes get really big when they get near her. So far, all three have been really good with her. Let's hope that continues when she starts pulling their tails. It seems like in the last few weeks she has grown a TON! She is outgrowing outfits daily and is now wearing 3-6 month clothes pretty consistently (although she has already grown out of some of those). She has become quite the little chunky monkey and we love it! I can't get enough of her little chunky legs and chubby little cheeks. She has the most beautiful, big, brown eyes and a full head of wild hair! We are loving every minute we are spending with out sweet baby girl!

Jon's First Father's Day!

Aubree and Jon had a great time celebrating Father's Day. Aunt Cheryl and Sandee came all the way from California to meet Aubree and were in town for fathers day weekend. After spending some time at our house, we headed to Coppell to meet everyone for a father's day dinner. We went to Celebration (one of Jon's favorite restaurants) and had a wonderful meal! A few weeks before father's day, Jon enjoyed a round of golf for part of his present and then I had a key chain made for him with Aubree's picture in it for him to remember his first fathers day. This sweet little girl is completely in LOVE with her daddy. As soon as he comes in a room and she hears his voice, she starts looking for him. When she sees him, she gets the biggest smile on her face! It is truly amazing to see the love they have for each other. I could not have asked for a more loving father for our daughter. We are blessed beyond belief! We love you daddy!

Aubree's First Two Months

Phew! It's been a while!!! I think its about time for an update on little Miss Aubree. Jon and I are completely in love with our sweet little girl and we can't even begin to express how much fun we have had these last few months! The first four weeks or so were ROUGH! Once we found out that she had a milk allergy and we switched her to formula she has been a very happy baby! She still have a little attitude and will let you know when she doesn't get her way, but the formula has really helped and we are so happy she's not in pain anymore. Here are a few highlights from Aubree's first two months (with a few pictures to follow):

-At her 2 month checkup she weighed 11 lbs, 12 ounces (64th percentile) and was 22 inches long (34th percentile). Poor thing is probably going to take after her mommy in the height area!

-She loves playing on her playmat and looking at herself in mirrors. She also likes anything that lights up and plays music.

-She initiated me into the "mommy club" when she POOPED all over my face a few weeks ago. It's a great story now, but not so fun at the time.

-She smiled her first BIG smile on May 2nd and she hasn't stopped since.

-She loves sitting on your lap and staring at you. She smiles, coos, and screams out loud when she gets excited.

-At first, she hated her baths, but once we took her out of the infant hammock and put her down in the water she LOVES it!

-She has the most gorgeous big, brown eyes, chubby little cheeks, and tons of hair!

-SHE SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT! :) She sleeps in her nap nanny which has been a life saver! It helps tremendously with her reflux.

-She is very active and kicks her legs constantly. Her pediatrician said you usually see that more in boys, ha! She told us to expect her gross motor skills (walking, crawling, etc.) to come before her verbal.

-While she is eating, she stares up at you with those pretty eyes....love it!

-She is getting really good at holding her head up for longer periods of time.

-She is VERY hot natured (like her daddy). She is almost always hot and kicks her blanket off her legs at night.

-She loves car rides as long as you're moving. She would prefer we not stop at lights and stop signs :)

-We don't go anywhere without the PACI! If she spits it out or it falls on the floor we are in trouble! (cue dramatic music and me in slow motion diving for the falling pacifier.

-She enjoys shopping with mommy and will sit in the cart and look around at everyone.

-We keep going back and forth on who she looks like..some people say me while others think Jon.

-She usually takes a good morning nap (a few hours) and then several smaller cat naps in the afternoon.

-She likes being read to. We usually read a few books during the day and then a few at bedtime.

-She hates tummy time or being held on her belly. We have been trying to come up with other creative ways for her to strengthen her neck muscles :)

-My favorite time of the day is when her Daddy comes home! She knows his voice and as soon as she sees him, her eyes get HUGE and she gets the biggest smile on her face. She usually screams out and starts waving her arms around. It just melts my heart! Can we say "Daddy's Girl!"

Our family is so blessed! From the moment I was put on bed rest our family and friends have taken such good care of us! Jon and I want to thank everyone who helped out before and after Aubree's arrival!

Thank you to EVERYONE who provided meals for us while I was on bedrest and after we got home. Van Alstyne Elementary, Van Alstyne Middle School, and our wonderful families...we couldn't have done it without you. It was so wonderful to be able to completely focus on Aubree and not worry about what we were going to eat. We are so blessed to work for such a wonderful district that took care of us for almost three weeks! Wow!

To my parents...Thank you dad for helping Jon put countless baby items together while I bossed from the couch :) Mom, I don't know what I would do without you! Thank you for doing our laundry, dishes, cleaning, helping with Aubree, and everything else you did and continue to do for us! You are a life saver! Most of all, thank you for being there when I needed to talk or ask questions about this crazy and wonderful new job!

To Jon's parents....Thank you for cleaning our house top to bottom before we headed to the hospital. Granddaddy, thank you for "being the trailboss." Bena, thank you for coming and spending the week with us and helping with the chores as well as with Aubree. You helped keep us afloat while we transitioned into our new roles! We are forever grateful to have such wonderful parents like you!

And to the rest of of family and friends who have called, visited, offered a helping hand, and emailed...Thank you for everything you do and continue to do for our family. We are extremely blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives. Most importantly, thank you for all who prayed for our family during our pregnancy, during our long delivery, and everyday after. We feel your support and we are forever thankful. We love each and every one of you!

Aubree's Arrival!

We have been busy around here the last few weeks adjusting to life with our new baby girl. Jon and I couldn't be more thrilled to be parents. We are in awe of this precious little girl. She is such a miracle and a true blessing and gift from God! We are so lucky to be her parents.

And now for the story of Aubree's journey into the world! Sunday, March 21, 2010, Jon and I headed to the hospital around 5 pm to begin my induction. We were both very excited and anxious to get everything started! Dr. Oliviera came by after we got there and confirmed that I had still not dilated. Boo! From there, they gave me cervadil to hopefully begin the process and then we were told to try and get some rest. Ha, yea right! After a sleepless night, Dr. Oliviera came back in the morning to check my progress....still nothing! They started pitocin around 7 am in hopes that this would speed things along. After starting the medicine, I began feeling a ton of pressure, but I told Jon that it almost felt like my contractions had stopped. A little while later a nurse came in and told me she had to adjust my contraction monitor because she wasn't picking any contraction up. Sure enough, the medicine that was suppose to speed things along, in fact stopped what little contractions I was having. Later that afternoon I got my epidural because although I wasn't having painful contractions, I was having horrible pressure/pain in my lower back. Plus, I had a feeling that a C-Section was in my future so I figured I would get the epidural over with and get some relief. The epidural made me extremely nauseous so I spent the next few hours holding a nice little container next to my head. Jon was wonderful throughout my "labor." He rubbed my back, tried to keep me entertained, and provided constant encouragement! Dr. Oliviera checked me again around 4 and still NOTHING! We were now almost 24 hours in and since I was getting pitocin I couldn't get up or eat/drink anything. She said that at that point our best option was probably a C-Section. By this time I was good to go with that decision. The nurse came in an hour or so later and Jon and I thought she was there to get us ready to go....not exactly! She informed us that there was not one, not two, but THREE C-Sections before mine and they were considered more at risk so I would have to wait even longer. By this point we just wanted to meet our sweet little girl! Finally, around 9:30 they wheeled me down while Jon dressed in the lovely scrubs. The C-Section went great and Aubree was born, kicking and screaming, at 9:54 pm, weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces and measuring 18.5 inches long. Almost 30 HOURS after my induction began. As soon as I saw her sweet little face it was all worth it! Dr. Oliviera discovered that the bone behind my cervix is inverted which is what kept me from dilating. She said little Aubree would not have fit through even if she tried. Funny how God has a plan even when we don't know what it is.

After a LONG couple of days, Jon and I were so happy to welcome Aubree Mae into the world. Jon got to hold her first and they just kept staring at each other. It was so fun to watch the two of them bond immediately. She was very alert! After they closed me up, I finally got to hold my baby girl while I was wheeled to recovery. Our family was able to come back a few at a time to meet Aubree. Thank you to all our wonderful family who waited so long to meet our sweet little angel. She was well worth the wait!

I'll post pictures from Aubree's first month soon. I can't believe she is already a month old! Jon said the other day "I never knew it was possible to love something so much after only being with her for a few weeks." PRICELESS!

UPDATES!

Well, its been an eventful couple of weeks around here! I haven't been very good at updated the blog so I'll try and catch everyone up :) Like I said in my last post, my doctors have been watching my blood pressure because it seemed to be slightly elevated at my last doctors visit. After a restful weekend, Monday and Tuesday of last week I went back to work. I was still feeling really run down by the end of the day so I was very anxious for my appointment on Wednesday to see what Dr. Oliviera would say. At her office, my blood pressure was great (120/80) and Aubree sounded wonderful. She did however send me up to have a sonogram to check the fluid around the baby and make sure things looked okay since I had been having some blood pressure problems. I called Jon and told him I was on my way for a sonogram and he was bummed that he was going to miss it! He hasn't missed one yet. At Dr. Weiss' office they monitored Aubree for about 15 minutes and then took my blood pressure. It read high at his office (for some reason is always does), but the fluid around Aubree looked great and he assured me that she looked wonderful. Then he said "but I think we may admit you for 24 hours of observation just to make sure your blood pressure doesn't cause any problem." I was SHOCKED! This is the only sonogram I had gone to alone and here he was telling me I was on my way to the hospital. I kept asking him "but you're sure Aubree is okay right." I wanted to make sure he hadn't seen anything on the sonogram and was just afraid to tell me, ha! He left me in the room alone while he went to call Dr. Oliviera and consult with her. I called Jon and told him he may need to find a sub for the rest of the day because it sounded like I was on my way to admitting. Needless to say, he was a little shocked as well! To make a long story somewhat short, I was admitted for observation for 24 hours and then released home and instructed to stay in bed or on the couch. While I was in the hospital, my blood pressure remained stable (130/70's) and Aubree sounded great each time they monitored her.

Since then, I have been resting on the couch, reading lots of books, and watching TV. I think the dogs like the company during the day :) I saw Dr. Oliviera again yesterday and we set my induction date for March 25th!!!!! She said with patients who start to show signs of high blood pressure they usually deliver between 38-39 weeks. That combined with her size led us to this date! We go in for a sonogram and another appointment with Dr. Oliviera on Monday. If Aubree continues to measure REALLY big she did say she may push the date up even further! We are hoping to hold out until the 25th and give her plenty of time to completely develop before she arrives! Until then, you know where you can find me :)

PS- A HUGE thank you to all our friends and family for all the prayers, phone calls, and well wishes! It is so comforting to know that we have so many people praying for us! From the dinners that have already started pouring in to the cleaning provided by our wonderful parents...we couldn't be more grateful! We truly have the most wonderful friends and family. We are soooo blessed :) We love each and every one of you!

Sunday, February 22nd, Jon's cousin Donna and our sister-in-law, Addie hosted a beautiful shower for little miss Aubree Mae. The food was delicious and everything was decorated really cute! Donna and Addie did a wonderful job and Aubree got even more goodies. It is safe to say that this little girl is already spoiled rotten. I enjoyed seeing great friends that I hadn't seen in a while and visiting with everyone. Thank you to everyone who came and shared this special time with us. This past week has been a little too eventful! I had been feeling really tired and worn down and just had a "funny feeling" that I couldn't really describe. On Tuesday, I started having a really bad pain in the middle of my stomach that just would not go away! I had been checking my blood pressure on and off throughout the week and it seemed to be running a little higher than usual (130's/high 80's). After a few days of high readings and a pain that wouldn't go away, I decided to call my doctor on Thursday. I figured she would have me come in on Friday to check things out, but I was a little alarmed when she said she wanted me to come in within the hour to have blood work done. My wonderful team at school covered my class until a sub could get there and Jon and I headed to the doctor. They took blood and checked my blood pressure (which seemed to have gone down a bit, thank goodness) and sent me home with orders to go to bed until my appointment the following morning. My mom came up Thursday evening and brought us dinner and spent the night so she could take me to my appointment so Jon wouldn't have to take off another day. She also cleaned our kitchen, did laundry, and waited on me. What would we do without our mom's! At my appointment on Friday, my blood pressure was good, but still a little higher than my usual readings (130/82). Dr. Oliviera said my blood work looked great, but she did want me to prepare for possibly going on bed rest within the next seven to ten days. Since we have been watching my blood pressure from the beginning she doesn't want to take any chances as we near the end of the pregnancy. She said that since I have a physically demanding job, I may find myself resting in bed for the last few weeks of my pregnancy. I told her we would do whatever it took to get Aubree here safe and sound. Aubree sounded great on the doppler..her heartbeat was strong. She is resting completely on my right side. I don't know how in the world she fits over there, but I'm guessing she will spread out soon when she runs out of room. Dr. Oliviera okayed me to go back to work on Monday and Tuesday but told me to take it easy after work. I go back to see her on Wednesday to see how things are going. Until then, we are continuing to pray for low bp numbers :)

Snow..and 33 Week Appointment

A few weeks ago, we had record snow fall!!! I think we got about 10 inches here in Van Alstyne and the dogs (and Jon) were loving it. School let out at 12:30 on Thursday and we soon found out that it was cancelled for Friday as well. Woohoo! It's always fun when we have cancellations/vacation days since we both teach. Jon and I enjoyed spending the day together. When we got home on Thursday, we were excited to take the dogs out and see how they would react to all the snow. Yoda hated it, but Sammie Jo and Roscoe loved running around and trying to find their tennis ball that kept getting burried in the snow. Below are some pictures from our snow day. 33 Week Appointment

The following Monday, I had an afternoon of appointments. I took half the day off because I knew I would be at the doctor's office/hospital all afternoon. I started off at the hospital doing our pre-registration. It was very surreal to see all the sweet babies in the nursery and then think about how that will be our baby in about a month! After I met with the pre-registration nurse, I headed to Dr. Weiss' office for our sonogram. Jon and my mom met me there and we were all very excited to see sweet Aubree. I was very anxious to see how much she had grown since she was measuring so big at our last appointment. Dr. Weiss measured the fluid around Aubree and took all his measurements and said she looked wonderful. After plugging in all his numbers he said "Well, she jumped up a few percentile points (last time she was in the 75% )." Jon and I both looked at each other as Dr. Weiss proceeded to tell us that our sweet baby girl was now in the 80% for weight and was weighing in at a whopping 5 pounds 4 ounces!!! My mom just laughed and Jon looked shocked. I asked Dr. Weiss how big he thought she would be if I carried her to term and all he would say was "big." Ha! From there, I headed to my Ob's office. I was thrilled when I walked in because no one was in the waiting room. Woohoo! I usually have to wait at least an hour because I take the last appointment of the day. It was nice to be in and out for a change. Dr. Oliveria listened to Aubree's heartbeat and again assured us that everything was proceeding as planned. My blood pressure continues to be normal (an answer to many prayers). She also told me that if Aubree continues to grow at the such a fast rate, that she would most likely induce me early so that I have a chance of having her normally (and so she wouldn't be 12 pounds, ha!) It looks as though we will get to meet our sweet Aubree Mae in March. I got back to the doctor on March 1st and we have another sonogram on March 15th. I'm assuming that after that sonogram we will have a better idea of when we will get to meet our sweet baby girl!

Mom's Nanny Shower

This post is long overdue!!! On February 6th my Aunt and Mom threw an AMAZING shower for little Miss Aubree Mae! We had the shower at "Wonderful World of Cooking" in Carrollton. We had a yummy lunch (chicken salad, fruit, and spinach salad) and Aubree got so many precious goodies! The Wednesday before the shower, things were NOT great in my world. Jon came down with the stomach flu and was sick Monday and Tuesday. I was able to avoid the sickness for one whole day before it hit me with a vengeance! I got the wonderful stomach bug Wednesday night. To me, this is the worst kind of sick and when you have another human growing inside of you its extra rough! I was sick ALL night Wednesday and most of the day on Thursday. My fever finally broke on Friday morning and I spent my birthday piled in the bed with Roscoe, Yoda, and Sammie Jo to keep me company. My doctor called in a prescription that would dissolve on my tongue and once I kept that down I started feeling much better. I was good to go in time for my shower on Saturday. Below are some pictures from our wonderful day (I am 31 weeks pregnant here)! We are so blessed to have so many great people in our lives. I can't wait to introduce Aubree to all our wonderful friends and family who we love so very much!

I have been a terrible blogger lately! Things have been getting a little hectic around here as we prepare for little Miss Aubree's arrival. I'm going to try to update the blog with a few new posts later tonight or tomorrow. Until then....A few weeks ago, we had a preggo dinner at Glorias in Addison. The food was yummy and it was fun to talk to everyone about what they are experiencing during their pregnancy. We are definitely going to have to get this group of babies together for a play date after they all make their debut!

As I have said a million times before, we have the most amazing family! A few weekend ago, Nanny and Poppy (my parents) came over and cleaned and organized our garage. Jon's weekends have been filled with basketball and that weekend he was helping with a power lifting tournament. I am to the point that simply bending over to put on my socks leaves me winded so I haven't been able to tackle the dreaded garage. The mess out there was seriously about to start giving me panic attacks! I wanted it cleaned up so we could get one car in the garage before Aubree makes her arrival. Nanny and Poppy came to the rescue. After a few hard hours of work (which involved my sitting in a chair and directing the madness while my parents worked their tails off), our garage in CLEAN! I probably shouldn't admit this, but we haven't had a car in the garage since we moved here over a year and a half ago! Please tell me someone else has this problem too. Now, my car fits in the garage and Jon and I are determined to keep it that way! Thank you Nanny and Poppy for all of your hard work. We truly appreciate it and we love you very much!

Chunky Monkey-29 Week Appointment

We had our 29 week appointment on Monday as well as another sonogram. We started out at Dr. Weiss' office for our sonogram and got great news. Aubree continues to grow VERY well. In fact we found out that she is already 3 pounds, 4 ounces! Jon's response was "wow!". She was very hyper all day on Monday and she continued her crazy dance moves during the sonogram. Dr. Weiss couldn't get a very good picture because she was so busy moving around! He measured the fluid around her and said everything was measuring where it should be.

After our sonogram, Jon headed to the Stars game with Blake while I went downstairs to see Dr. Oliviera for my regular appointment. I have gained 20 pounds which according to the nurse is great. Carrying around these extra twenty pounds doesn't feel so great! My blood pressure was normal and Aubree's heartbeat was strong. The first thing Dr. Oliviera said when she came in was "Go Baby Enlow! She is growing!" She then informed me that she is already in the 75 percentile for weight. Yikes! I was a little over seven pounds when I was born and I think Jon was over 8 so it looks like we will have a little chunky monkey if I go full term (which we are praying for). It was great to hear that our little girl is growing strong and everything looks healthy. I go back in four weeks for another sonogram and doctors appointment. We'll see how many pounds she can pack on in the next four weeks. I hope she knows that her mom is only 5 foot tall!

A Work in Progress!

The nursery project began last weekend! I have been very anxious to get this project started and finished. Bena and Granddaddy (Jon's parents) came and stayed with us for the weekend. With some help from Jon, they painted the nursery as well as a wall in our kitchen that needed some touch ups. The room turned out great! The pink was a bit shocking at first because we are use to seeing either white or brown on all our walls, but it matches her bedding great and it looks wonderful now that all the furniture is in! We still have a lot to do (curtains, wall hangings, spelling her name with letters, etc.) but its coming along great. I am so pleased with how it looks so far and I can't wait to decorate even more!

I'm 28 weeks this week and I continue to feel good. Everything feels like its stretching out so I have been a little sore the last few weeks. It's getting harder and harder to do everyday things. Putting my socks on is quickly becoming Jon's job :) With my height (or lack there of) poor Aubree doesn't have much room in there so it feels like she is growing straight out! I love sitting and watching her move around in my stomach. Jon was FINALLY able to feel her move last Saturday. As I said before, she liked to play tricks on him and freeze as soon as he would put his hand on my stomach. I guess that game is over because he has felt her moving around almost everyday since Saturday. I love it! We go back to the doctor on Monday for a sonogram and a check-up. We can't wait to see sweet Aubree Mae!

We got Aubree's bedding last week and I absolutely LOVE it! We ordered it from a lady who hand makes everything and sells on ebay! She did such a great job. Bena and Granddaddy are coming this weekend to help paint her room and her furniture is hopefully being delivered in a few weeks. Jon, TC, and Dad put the glider together tonight while we watched the Cowboys. I can't wait to see it all put together. Here is a sneak peak of her bedding:

26 Weeks and New Years Eve!

Jon and I rang in the New Year at the Stars Game. This has become one of our favorite date nights! We saw a great game and we finally got to some great fights, ha! Loui Erickson got a hat trick and led the Stars to Victory. Mallory and TC were also at the game.

In baby news, I reached the 26 weeks mark on New Years Eve! I continue to feel great, however I think I may have overdone it a bit the last few days with all the cleaning and organizing. I luckily have a wonderful husband who has been a huge help! I've been really sore for the last few days and it feels like my belly is stretching out. My belly button is seriously on the verge of popping out :) I guess Aubree needs some more room in there! We are in the process of signing up for our classes at the hospital and completing our pre-registration. We also completed our registry at Babies-R-Us! That was a bit overwhelming, but Jon had a great time with the scanner. I got a little worried when the lady helping us told Jon he could go over and scan video games from Toys-R-Us. Luckily he contained himself and we stuck to baby items! Jon said that he realized how close we were getting to meeting sweet Aubree while we were picking out all her things! Only 14 short weeks and we'll be parents! We love speculating who she will look like, how she will act, and what the first few weeks will hold. We grow more and more excited to meet her with each passing day!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I apologize that this post if late, but we have been cleaning, organizing and enjoying some down time during our last few days of Christmas break. We had a wonderful Christmas this year and were able to spend time with the Enlow's and McKee's. We started our holiday marathon with Christmas Eve at Mamaw Nina's house. We had a wonderful lunch and visited with family. From there, we went to Coppell to open presents with my parents, sister, and grandparents. We got lots of goodies including our video camera! Aubree even got a few presents including a precious hat that I'll have to post a picture of later. After we opened presents and ate another yummy meal, Jon and Mom were ready to challenge Mallory and I in a game of spades. We played two games and Mal and I won both :) On Christmas morning, we combined the Enlow and McKee traditions and had monkey bread as well as sausage rolls. Yum! We were suppose to head to Bowie, but a blizzard decided to hit and change our plans. Jon and I headed to Keller to spend some time with Blake, Addie, and precious little Laney. Dwayne and Brenda were able to brave the weather and join us that evening so that we could prepare for the annual after Christmas shopping adventure! We passed the time by playing two more games of spades. Unfortunately Jon, lost both times again! :) The day after Christmas we stocked up on paper plates, cups, napkins, etc. On Sunday, we finally made our way to Bowie to spend Christmas with the Enlow's. We again got lots of goodies and Aubree even got a few presents! We played two more rounds of spades and Dwayne and I were once again the winners :) Just thought I would rub that in a bit more in case Jon didn't hear enough heckling throughout the holidays! We had a wonderful Christmas and loved spending time with our families. We are looking forward to waking up in our house on Christmas morning next year for the first time since we have been married. We can't wait to share this special time our year with our baby girl!

Doctor's Appointments and 25 Weeks

This post is a little late because of our eventful Christmas week! Last Monday (December 21) I had an appointment with my Doctor. It was time for my dreaded glucose test and I was not looking forward to it! Luckily I was able to drink the Fruit Punch flavor instead of orange since all things orange have been giving my awful heartburn! My appointment went great and Dr. Oliveria said Aubree sounded wonderful. My glucose results came back the next day and I was happy to find out that I "passed" and would not need to do the longer test! Woohoo! My blood pressure was normal and I've gained 14 pounds. I was shocked at that number because that 14 pounds feels more like 40!

On Tuesday, we headed our for another sonogram. Aunt Mallory was able to come and see Aubree with us. Before the doctor came in, I was laying on the table with my belly exposed and Mallory kept saying "it looks funny when you laugh." :) We were able to see our sweet baby girl while Dr. Weiss took all his measurements. He said that Aubree is about two pounds and everything looks great! We go back in a month to see her again. It so much fun to see how she changes each month. We could see her little hands opening and closing around her face while he was taking her profile picture. She is such a little miracle and Jon and I are so blessed. We can't wait to meet our sweet little girl!

On Sunday (December 20th) we headed to Aunt Gail and Uncle David's house to celebrate Christmas with my cousins! It's always a fun day with four kids under the age of 9 digging into tons of presents! We had lots of yummy food and had a great time spending the day with my wonderful family. Aubree got a beatiful quilt from Aunt Gail and Uncle David that they found on their Branson trip. Thanks Aunt Gail and Uncle David! Below are a few pictures from our day!

24 Weeks!

Basketball season is here, which means Jon is only home 2-3 nights a weeks. Since he is the photographer, I didn't get a picture at 23 weeks last week, but I was able to track him down long enough this week to get one :) I'm starting a scrapbook for Aubree and beginning this week, we are writing a letter to her each week to accompany my belly pictures. Hopefully one day she can look back on it and see what her journey was like.

We've made some progress in the nursery and it is almost completely cleaned out. It has been my gift wrap room for the last few days, but once I get my mess cleaned up we should be ready to paint! I can't wait to get the furniture here and see what it looks like all set up. Her nursery is going to be black, white, and pink. I'll post pictures as soon as we start the nursery.

We only have 1.5 school days left until Christmas break and we can start our LONG to-do list! We still need to go register, make progress on the nursery, switch some furniture around, etc. It doesn't look like our Christmas break will be all that relaxing, but I'm looking forward to getting some things accomplished. We are having Christmas with my family this Saturday and then we'll be with the Enlow's on Christmas day. Of course our Enlow holiday would not be complete without our day after Christmas shopping extravaganza! I'll have to try and take some pictures this year! Maybe we can get Bena in action (last year she knocked a sign over on some lady's head). It's always an exciting event!

I have a doctors appointment on Monday which will include my glucose test and then we have a sonogram on Tuesday. We're very excited to see Aubree again! I'm sure I'll have much more to update after those two appointments.

24 Weeks!

22 Weeks!

We are back in the swing of things after a nice Thanksgiving break. We loved getting to spend time with our wonderful families and celebrate all that we have to be thankful for this year. We started Thanksgiving break off with a night at the Stars game. This has become our new favorite thing to do!!! Jon got us a great deal on some tickets and we enjoyed cheering the Stars on to victory. Our next trip will be on New Years Eve!

On November 24th we had another sonogram. I get soooo excited to see our sweet baby girl on the screen. We were happy to hear that Aubree is growing and everything looked great with mom and baby. The doctor said she weighed 1 lb, 1 ounce and was about 11 inches long. Her heart rate was strong and her head was down. I told him I thought she had been tap dancing on my bladder and he said "more like punching!" Most of the movement I have felt has been very low in my stomach. Last night was the first night I felt a kick up closer to the middle of my stomach. She decided to start a dance routine about the time I was laying down for the night! This is by far my favorite part of the pregnancy so far. I love feeling her move around! We go back on December 22nd to see her again and I can't wait! Here is Aubree Mae at 21 weeks:

Aubree-21 Weeks! What a sweet profile!

Currently, I am 22 weeks pregnant and still feeling great! I get short of breath at times, especially after I eat, but other than that I have been feeling great! We've made some headway in preparing the nursery. We sold our old furniture on Craig's List and now we're working on cleaning out the closet. Our furniture is in and we would like to get the room painted and set up before we go back to school after Christmas break. Luckily we have some expert painters to help us out from the Enlow side of the family :) Y'all get your paint brushes ready!

On a side note, I am so proud of my wonderful husband! He has lost a little over 20 pounds on his diet. I told him that he needs to keep it up so that in May he can be my trainer! I think I need someone like "Bob" on The Biggest Loser to whip me into shape and he could definitely keep me motivated! Way to go Jon! We are so proud of you!!!

The Name Game!

Yeah! We have finally decided on a name for our little girl.

My Nanny's middle name was Mae and Jon and I both like the name Aubree. Since I offically came up with it, he was in charge of the spelling. We absolutely LOVE it and we can't wait to meet our darling Aubree Mae in April!

Half Way There! - 20 Weeks

This past Tuesday marked the half way point in my pregnancy! I'm so excited to be one week closer to meeting our precious baby girl! I had my doctors appointment on Friday and as always I had to wait a while! It was Friday the 13th and by the time I got in to see the doctor, she had just returned from delivering two babies and had three more women that would deliver that night! My doctor is absolutely WONDERFUL so I don't mind waiting for her! They checked my weight and I made sure that she measured my belly. It seems that all of a sudden my belly has "blossomed" and I feel so much bigger! I've been getting a lot more comments about it. Dr. Oliveria assured me that I had gained the perfect amount of weight and that my belly was measuring exactly as it should. She said "you're just short so there's not really anywhere else for her to go but out!" I just can't wait to see what this belly looks like around 35 weeks, ha! Joy! My favorite part of every appointment is getting to hear our sweet baby's heartbeat on the doppler machine. Dr. Oliveria put the wand on my stomach and there it was, loud and clear. She said, "Now that is a happy, healthy baby!"

From what I can tell, baby girl is resting very LOW in my stomach. On all my sonograms and when they use the doppler she seems very low, maybe an inch or so below my belly button. I guess this explains why the restroom is now my second home! I think I set a record a few nights ago by going 5 times from the time I went to bed until the time I got up! I told a friend at school that I was going to put my name on the restroom door and start having class in there!

I've also been eating A LOT these last couple of weeks. Jon on the other hand has decided to go on a diet. He has lost almost 15 pounds in 3 weeks. I am so proud of him! We went to Snuffers last week and when they brought our food the waitress tried to give me the salad and Jon the bacon cheeseburger. I said "Oh no, that massive burger is mine, he'll take the salad." I've also gone through an eight pound bag of grapefruits in about a week and a half! Yum!

Finally, we have decided on a name for our little one! We are however still working on the spelling so as soon as we get that part down, a post will be coming! Stay tuned!

20 Weeks-Half Way!!!

Panther Football and 19 Weeks!

Last Friday night was VERY exciting! The VA Panthers won their last regular season game, clenching the title of district champs! They had the perfect season, 10-0. Those of you born and raised around Texas high school football know what a big deal this is! The boys worked so hard as did all the coaches. My parents and Jon's parents made it out to the big game to help cheer on the team. We had a great time visiting and watching some great football! Their first playoff game is this Friday against Celina. We're hoping for another win!!!

In baby news, I am 19 weeks today. I have been feeling great, but getting LARGER by the day! My 4 inch mid-section seems to be growing straight OUT! A stranger asked me for the first time this week when I was due. It's good to know that at least I'm looking pregnant now and not just fat! Jon and I are still going back and forth on names. We have a few front runners and we hope to decide soon. Calling our little girl "Baby MonJon" just doesn't seem as appropriate now that we know its a girl. We welcome any ideas for names anyone has heard lately :)

My Canton trip with my mom and sister was very successful. I found baby girl some cute camo and pink shoes as well as some headbands. We are going to "Neath the Wreath" this weekend to hopefully find some more goodies! Below are a few pictures from the last few weeks.

19 Weeks! Almost half way there!

It's A GIRL!!!!!

Jon and I had our 17 week sonogram yesterday. Baby MonJon cooperated and we were able to find out that we are having a BABY GIRL! We are both thrilled! Our sweet little girl is weighing in at 8 ounces and the doctor said everything looks great! While he was getting all his measurements, she was moving around like crazy and kicking up a storm! I've felt little flutters in my stomach, but not all out kicks yet! I can't wait until that happens :) Here are two pictures of our baby girl!

On another note, I think my cravings have hit. I've been eating any bread I can get my hands on and pickles are my new best friend! A few nights ago I had a meatball sandwich from Subway with extra pickles. I think the lady that took my order thought I was crazy, as did Jon when he saw what I was eating! I've been feeling great though and I have much more energy than I did a few weeks ago! It's hard to believe that in a few more weeks I'll be at the half way mark! We love our baby girl so much and we are so excited to meet her in April!

Sharing the News!

Jon and I had so much fun sharing the news we were pregnant! Blake and Addie were the first to know. We called them the Saturday after we found out and asked them if they wanted to meet us at Bass Pro for a little shopping. We were going to wait until after our dr. appointment, but we couldn't wait any longer! We got there a little early and found a baby shirt that said “Daddy’s Little Fishin Budd” and we put it in our cart. When they came through the door we walked up to meet them and Blake noticed the shirt right away. He said Addie already suspected something was up!

The next day we told my parents. We made bandana’s for the dogs to wear that said “Future Big Bro” and “Future Big Sis.” We took them to the bedroom and put their bandana’s on and then let them run into the living room. Dad said, “Aww, how cute, they got new bandana’s.” After another minute or so I finally said “Why don’t you read what they SAY!” Once they did they were VERY excited! This will be their first grandchild!

Dwayne and Brenda came to Van Alstyne one night to “see our new tile floors.” That is what we told them to get them down here so we could share the good news. When they got here, we gave them a picture frame that said Grandparents and inside I made a sign that said “Coming Soon! April 2010.” We celebrated with dinner and then called everyone else on Jon’s side of the family.

Mallory and TC came into town for dinner one night and we went to Spaghetti Warehouse with my parents. I gave Mallory a card about being an aunt. We wanted to make sure she got the hint because we have called her Aunt Mallory since we’ve had the dogs so we had to add a little to the card. We signed it “Baby Enlow” and added “P.S. See you in April.” I don’t think she got it until she read the P.S.

The next day we all went to my cousin’s house for Blake’s birthday celebration. Mallory made a shirt to wear to spread the word! On the front it said “You Can Call Me…” and on the back it said “Aunt Mal.” We were probably there a good 15 minutes before Aunt Gail asked Mal to help her get something out of the car. As she was following Mallory out she noticed the back or her shirt and the baby bottle patch. All we heard was “OH MY GOSH!” and they both came running back in to show everyone else. It was such a fun day.

Jon and I had a blast telling all our friends and family about our new little bundle of joy. I am amazed at how much we already love our baby and we feel extremely blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family members who share our joy! Check back Wednesday, we are hoping we have news about the sex of Baby MonJon!

Babies, Babies and more BABIES!

Just wanted to take some time to congratulate some dear friends of ours!!! Heather and Eric Hubbard found out today that they are expecting TWINS in April! We have talked constantly since we both found out we were expecting and it is so exciting to know that our babies will grow up together! It seems like so many of our friends are expecting right now! Looks like Baby MonJon will be very busy with play dates come April! Heather, I am so blessed to have such a wonderful friend and I am so glad we are sharing this experience together!

On another note, I'm 16 weeks today! So far everything is progressing great! We go back to the doctor next Wednesday to hopefully find out the sex. Keep your fingers crossed that the baby will cooperate!

Our baby has furniture! We were extremely blessed to have Jon's parents (Bena and Granddaddy) as well as his cousin (DD) give us our first baby gift this past Saturday! They bought all the furniture for Baby MonJon's room!!! We have to wait 10-12 weeks for the furniture to get here. Once we find out what the baby is, let the painting begin :) Thanks again Bena, Granddaddy, and DD for your generous gift! We are so thankful and we absolutely love the furniture!

Adding to Our "Full House"

As many of you already know, our house has been quite full for some time now. Besides Jon and I, we have three furry friends who keeps things very interesting! Little do Roscoe, Yoda, and Sammie Jo know, they will soon take a back seat to our newest addition arriving in April 2010. Jon and I are thrilled and feel extremely blessed to welcome our new son or daughter into this world!

How it all transpired:
I was working a volleyball camp the last week of July and woke up one morning feeling a little off. I didn’t think much of it and went on with camp as usual. When I got home later that afternoon I started thinking, “Well, maybe I should take a test just to be sure.” I went to Walmart and came back to my mom and dads where I hid the test in my suitcase (I was staying at their house during the week of camp). Jon came in that night and we went to dinner with my family. The next morning I woke up around 5 and decided I may as well try one of the tests. To my great surprise the test came back positive!!! I snuck into the living room and woke Jon up (he roams at night and this is where he ended up this night). I didn’t want to tell him there so I said “why don’t you come back to bed?” He said okay and I retreated to my room. TEN minutes later he was still on the couch where he had fallen back asleep. I went and got him again and this time he followed. Once in the room I handed him the test and said “ready or not!” His first response was to drop the test because “eww, you peed on that thing, I don’t want to touch it!” Then, he got very excited and kept saying “are you sure, are you really sure?” After another test to prove to the daddy-to-be that I was “really sure” we both just laid there, too excited to say anything. Since neither of us could sleep, we went for bagels before I had to go to camp. It was so hard keeping the news from all our friends and families. Watching their reactions was priceless!!!

Needless to say, Jon and I are so thrilled that we will soon be parents. There are of course nerves that go with the excitement, but we know with the support of our friends and family we are well taken care of! God is working his plan in our lives and we trust him completely! We are so incredibly excited to embark on this next chapter of our life! We find out the sex of our little one on Oct. 28th, but until then he/she has been given the nickname “Baby MonJon.” Thanks Addie
